Hello and welcome to Uppsala BildTeknik AB, the Swedish 8mm filmscanning specialist!

We use the superb Flashscan8 for both Super8 and Regular8 films, it is a newly designed
filmscanner specially built for 8mm films, with scratch reduction, optical color correction and a
sound head (if there is a sound track on the films).

We usually transfer old home movies, complete with custom color correction included in the price.
If the color correction on the scanner is not enough we take your films to a editing program for further
tweaking, corrections and adjustments. We scan films only to PAL standard, no NTSC.

We have tons of test footage to download, both short clips with full DV quality and still images,
however we do not have an english page for the clips yet, if you want to see the clips and images
you will have to visit the swedish page with clips and images.
We will make an english version of this page shortly.

Clients within the EU will pay swedich VAT, no customs or import fees will be added.
Clients outside of EU will not pay swedish VAT, instead they will pay the VAT in their country,
additional import fees may or may not be charged by their customs office.

The price for filmscanning is 0.6 Euro per meter film, that will be 9 Euros per 15 meter reel, no extra
charge for short reels, however 15 meters is the minimum charge per reel even if the reel is shorter.
The price for the recording of your films is per unit (per DVD or miniDV tape).
A DVD costs 16 Euro and a miniDV tape costs 19 Euro.

The shipping will be added to the price.

On DVD we can offer data files for editing or complete movie DVDs with menus and all, please
write down what you want in the menu for each reel. This menu and the texts are free of charge.

For editing we recommend AVI files, you will receive a separate file for each of your reels in the
highest quality (with DV compression). These files take a lot of space, a DVD fits approx. 19 min.

For movie DVDs you can choose between 2 different qualities, maximum and normal quality.
A DVD with maximum quality can fit 60 minutes of film, a DVD with normal quality will fit 120 min.

we find the time to do so. We have tons of films to transfer for now, but we are working on it...
