With "Telecine 1" you will receive a HD transfer at a unbeatable price! We will only charge 5:50 SEK per meter film (shipping not included). No other charges will be added! We will transfer the films to 50p without adjusting the speed with pulldown and without any manual colorcorrection/grading.

You can easily adjust the playback speed while editing the footage, remember to uncheck "frame blending" in your editing software to preserve the progressive images.

Conditions for Telecine 1

  • Request for "Telecine 1" must be attached in writing with the filmreels.
  • Both reversal and negative 8mm films can be transferred with Telecine 1. Negative emulsions can only be transferred as a "Onelight transfer" in Telecine 1.
  • The filmreels must be spliced to bigger reels, choose "Prepare for telecine" at Andec while processing the footage.
  • The text "Telecine by www.uppsalabildteknik.com" must (if possible) be mentioned in the credits/information about the production.
  • It is not possible to attend the film transfer with the Telecine 1 option.
  • Send a USB flash drive or a hard drive with your films, the drive must be formatted to NTFS or HFS+ filesystem. If no hard drive is sent with the films we will add a USB2 hard drive to the order and charge for the hard drive according to our pricelist. A Big USB flash drive might be enough for small orders, all film must fit on one UBS flash drive and it must be formatted to NTFS or HFS+ filesystem.
  • Please note that each reel 15 meter will require less than 2 GB space on the drive.

Alternatives for exposure/colorcorrection:

  • Reversal emulsions can be transferred with automatic exposure or with locked exposure as a "Onelight transfer". Negative emulsions can only be transferred as a "Onelight transfer". A Onelight means that we set the exposure to the first scene and then transfer the whole reel with the same setting. No further adjustments to the exposure level will be done during the reel. Only choose a Onelight if you know what it is and if all the footage has similar exposure grade. They need to be shot with locked (manual) exposure in the camera, films shot with automatic exposure is not meant to be transferred as Onelight transfers.
  • We set the color balance according to the first scene on the reel, then we will transfer the whole reel with the same color setting. No further adjustments to the color balance will be done during the reel.

Telecine 2

With "Telecine 2" we offer HD-transfers for a very attractive price, with manual exposure adjustments and colorcorrections included in the price. We only charge 7:00 SEK per meter film and 6:- SEK per GB (shipping not included). No other charges will be added!

We will transfer the films with 25fps playback speed. Lots of scene changes with different need for exposure/colorbalance will add to the filesize. If the footage is as streamlined as possible, with less stops and adjustments needed, it will help to keep the filesize as small as possible (filesize will increase with 1,5 GB per minute).

Films exposed with lower framerates will be adjusted by you in your editing program.

A playback speed of 72% will play films exposed with 18fps with the correct framerate. Remember to unheck "frame blending" in your editing program to keep all frames progressive.

Conditions for Telecine 2

  • Request for "Telecine 2" must be attached in writing with the filmreels.
  • Both reversal and negative 8mm films can be transferred with Telecine 1.
  • The filmreels must be spliced to bigger reels, choose "Prepare for telecine" at Andec while processing the footage.
  • The text "Telecine by www.uppsalabildteknik.com" must (if possible) be mentioned in the credits/information about the production.
  • It is free to attend the transfer for all Telecine 2 orders, at no extra cost. Please contact us for time scheduling.
  • All stops, rewinds and adjustments of the exposure/color balance will be added to the delivered material. You can easily cut away any scenes not needed while editing. This will sometimes provide you with several transfers of a specific difficult scene.
  • Please note that every minute will require approximately 1,5 GB space on the drive. Please calculate extra space for adjustment and colorcorrections, as this will add to the filesize.

Alternatives for exposure/colorcorrection:

  • Reversal emulsions can be transferred with automatic exposure or with locked (manual) exposure. Negative emulsions can only be transferred with locked (manual) exposure. When transferring with locked exposure we will stop, adjust, rewind and retransfer from the last scenechange when needed, so that each scene is transferred with the same settings through the whole scene. Films shot with automatic exposure is not meant to be transferred with locked exposure, these are best transferred with automatic exposure.
  • We will supervise the transfer and adjust the colorbalance when needed during the transfer. We will stop, adjust, rewind and retransfer from the last scenechange when needed, so that each scene is transferred with the same settings through the whole scene. We will not take the transferred footage to NLE for additional grading, colorcorrection or playback speed adjustments since this would minimize your playroom for grading later on.
